Checking in #11

Location: Aarhus, Denmark

Grace how you doing? Grace is braided up. I got braids done while in Nigeria in June and they have held up so well, they’re still looking delicious. And I’m loving them. Grace and I have been in a quandary for a while over what to do with each other but a decision has now been made and you guys will see the new Grace unveiled soon and very soon. Just you wait!

Wearing: Pat McGrath Lip Balms. Succexy is without doubt my perfect nude, Wild Cherry is for when I want to be a glam diva with red but moisturised lips. Ultravixxen is for SLAYAGE!

Lusting after: These Moroccan rugs from Beldy Paris.

They are just so gorgeous and would fit right in with my décor but right now, the way my account is set up…

Food cravings: Back to craving plantain. How did I go a whole summer without plantain? What kind of life is this o? Help me!

Discovering: The joys of meal prepping. What was life before this? Makes life so much easier and cheaper too!

Listening to: Beyonce’s Lion King album “The Gift” which includes my summer anthem “Brown Skin Girl” and that banger “Don’t Jealous Me”. If you haven’t watched the newly released movie, get your life and go and watch. Now!

Looking forward to: The Aarhus festival week at the end of August and beginning of September

Recently reading: My Sister the Serial Killer – a weird, funny, intriguing book. The sisters’ relationship is intriguing and will probably resonate with anyone who has a close sibling especially of the same gender.

Stay with MeWARNING: Tears may be shed during the reading of this book. It just blew me away. I went through the full gamut of emotions reading this. My heart broke so many times and in different ways following Yejide and Akin in their quest for a child and what that quest ultimately did to them individually and as a couple. A must read.

How I’m doing on my goals and Forty By Forty: (click HERE to read my Forty By Forty bucketlist)

Goals from last Checking In: (1) Start learning Danish again (2) Extend my social network beyond work friends (3) Keep a food diary as well as a money diary for at least a month

I’m not even going to lie. I did nothing about learning Danish. Next!

I’ve made a few friends outside work and they are pretty amazing. So chuffed, so here’s to meeting more!

I never knew just how hard it would be to keep a diary. So hard! I have started so many times to keep both diaries but the money one is much easier (online banking basically tells me what I spend) but the food diary is a nightmare. Ugh! I will keep trying and report back.

Goals for the next four months:  (1) Start learning Danish again (2) Gym once a week (I fell off the wagon! (3) Blog once a week (I need to get back to this!)
