Spring/Summer 2019 AM Skincare Routine

Click HERE to read my the Spring/Summer 2019 PM Skincare Routine

It’s time for the morning, because of course skincare is just as important in the mornings. Gotta get that face protected for the springtime sun!

  1. Cleanser – I start off by cleansing and I wash my face with La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Cleansing Gel and Botanical Lab Neem Leaf Gentle Face Wash. Love these two!
  2. Toner – I tone using the Botanical Lab Pumpkin & Papaya Enzyme Daily Exfoliator. It’s scary how quickly this has become an absolute staple for me!
  3. Serum – Honestly, I tend to skip this step but if I have used the Pixi Retinol Tonic the night before, I will use The Ordinary Buffet which is chockful of peptides to go well with the retinol from the night before. From time to time, I will also use my Aesop Facial Essence when I want my niacinamide fix. I’ve also bought The Ordinary Niacinamide serum because ain’t nobody got coins for Aesop when The Ordinary is there.
  4. Moisturiser/SPF – I’ve actually not been using a moisturiser much since I changed up my routine. When I do, it is this Tesco Moisturising Fluid. If I’ve used a serum in the step before, I go straight to SPF; I’m not trying to layer up my oily/combination skin under these rays of sunshine. My face would just explode in breakouts. I keep the layers to a minimum and just put on my Benefit Dreamscreen SPF as the final step. It’s perfect because it also works as a primer so I don’t need to add that as well if I do want to wear makeup. The Dreamscreen seems to have been discontinued but a good alternative is the Shiseido Roll-on SPF which is even more practical and less messy. Love it!
  5. Eye cream – Ok I lied, the final step is actually my eye cream. I tap tap tap a little bit of my Clinique All About Eyes under my eyes with my ring finger and then I am set to go.

Told you, less steps and more simplified. Have your routines changed somewhat or not yet? Are you using any of the products I mentioned? Or what works for you? Shout in the comments below!
