Am lovin’ it: November Faves

Whoa! November zoomed right by and there was just so much happening that I had to take a break from everything social for a while to keep up. But don’t worry, nothing bad happened; in fact, there was so much awesome stuff happening, that there just wasn’t enough time to share here. But that’s coming soon, definitely in my next “Checking In” post. Till then, here are my November faves – have at it!

This amazing surprise wedding this blogger pulled off. So beautiful and giving me all sorts of ideas…who knows what the future holds? Haha!

Monique’s comedy special on Netflix – “I could have been your cellmate”. I think I spent most of the time watching this crying – both with laughter and sadness. Monique is hilarious and really should be more celebrated than she is or has been. Her humour is so on point, and in this show very poignant. Definitely worth a watch, one of the funniest shows I’ve seen in a while.

Skinny Girl in Transit. Yes, I’m so late to the party, and anyone else who hasn’t heard of it, come out from under the rock we were both sharing and experience the joy of this show. It’s so funny and makes me so nostalgic for Lagos every episode I see. Mama Tiwa is actually a blend of my mom and all my aunties. Salewa is a combo of my sister and cousin. The best thing about being late to the party is getting to bingewatch 4 seasons in a week – awesome!

This Nature Republic cream was the most timely beauty purchase I have made in a while. Hands down, this saved my skin right after my Clinique Moisture Surge finished.

These Onitsuka trainers I picked up recently in Tokyo. The most comfy and coolest trainers I own. I love ‘em.

H.E.R – “Lord is Coming”. If ever there was a song for the times, this is it. I’m sure you’ve enjoyed the dulcet tones of H.E.R. on the jam of the summer “Best Part” with my other fave, Daniel Caesar. But this is a different side to her (pun intended). I love the imagery and metaphorical biblical references juxtaposed against contemporary events. Not easy listening but necessary.

The HEATTECH range by Uniqlo. Yet another thing I’m super late to the party on but as I enter another darkwinter in Scandinavia, the timing couldn’t be more apt. It’s so cheap butabsolutely amazing. I got a vest for free simply by being in the Ginza store atthe right time on the right day and ended purchasing more because it’s the real deal. If you’re going to be battling the winter season, invest in the right armour and get yourself some HEATTECH from Uniqlo.

This video. I’m soooo sick of click bait 4C hair videos! This girl said it all. To all Youtubers with Type 3c/4a hair please please PLEASE stop with the claiming of 4C hair. I hate it so much! I refuse to give you my views anymore. Ugh!

This article which highlights the danger of an influencer’s recommendation. The recommendation of a food editor apparently brought about the demise of a much loved restaurant. A bit frightening to be honest.

And lastly, this awesome article on how to survive the holidays conquer the holidays as a single woman. Yaaassssssssss girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
