My top brunch spots in Copenhagen

Brunch is an institution in Copenhagen, so if you’re in the city, you have to partake! There are so many good spots and I’ve made it my mission to find the best one. Here are my favourites SO FAR (though I fully expect to update this in the future and maybe even bump some places off with new additions). Here we go!

Cadence – Amazing. Food is delicious and imaginative. Portions are just right in a leafy, cosy, open and light setting in Vesterbro. Service is a little slow but perhaps because it’s so popular. You will leave planning your next visit, trust me!

Søkkelund – You can’t go wrong with a classic French breakfast in a very fabulous dining setting in Frederiksberg. The food is done just right in impeccable surroundings. Dress up a little bit because the crowd tend to be quite upmarket so don’t play yourself.

The Sixteen Twelve – Being the sister restaurant to Cadence, of course the food is delicious – creative twists on brunch staples is in their DNA. Another cosy setting, this time in Nørrebro on the super cool Jægersborggade street. You can browse the cute, kitsch shops before and/or after brunch. What’s not to love?

Heaps Good – The decor is giving grandma’s cluttered living room vibes in this hole-in-the-wall in Nørrebro, but the food is absolutely worth the visit. Seeing and eating is believing with this one!

Union kitchen – Despite having been here a couple of times, the very extensive menu still can be a little overwhelming to me, though I’ve been happy every single time with my choices. Located on a side street beside Nyhavn with lots of gorgeous boutiques, you can have some good food and then do some shopping and sightseeing. #Winning

Wulff & Konstali – Brunch in a canteen-like setting. I won’t lie, it felt a little chaotic and it’s a bit of a tight fit with all the tables jammed in there but if you can get past that, the yummy food makes up for it.

Sidecar – The only buffet brunch on this list. I’m not a huge fan of buffets and especially not with what we’ve been living through these past couple of years. However, Sidecar is worth it. So worth it. Everything was soooooo scrumptious!!! Now if you can just wait the 3 months it takes to get a reservation…!

Admiralgade 26

Admiralgade 26 – If you’re up for something a bit different but with deliciousness guaranteed, then the Japanese breakfast, (“Chouchoku”) at Admiralgade 26 is the one to go for. A Nordic twist on Japanese food in the most delightful and hygge-est of settings (hygge-est is a word, I made it a word, fight with your mum!), this is absolutely a winner. And I bet you will want to nick more than a few of the decor items, they’re so gorgeous. I have my eye on one of the changing screens and the table-side lamps.

Honourable mentions go to Livingstone Cafe, Stefanos and Mirabelle.

Have you tried any of the places I have mentioned? Agree or disagree? Or do you have any other fave brunch spots in Copenhagen? Pipe up below in the comments.
