If you’ve been following me on Instagram or here on the blog, then you must know that Brunch is my favourite thing to do. Don’t tell my employer but I consider being a brunch connoisseur to be my real job; being a lawyer is just my side-gig hehe! Brunch is an institution here in Copenhagen, so if you’re in the city, you must partake! There are so many good spots and I’ve made it my mission to find the best one. Having previously done a couple of recommendations posts HERE and HERE, I decided to do one consolidated guide to Copenhagen’s best brunch spots from my perspective as a local. I intend to keep this post updated and add/bump place as my mission continues. Some spots require bookings, others walk-ins only, portion sizing could be improved at a number of places but every single recommended spot on here is a delight.
August 2025 UPDATE – The guide is organised alphabetically, with each spot’s location in Copenhagen indicated using the following key: (N) Nørrebro, (Ø) Østerbro, (FRB) Frederiksberg, (V) Vesterbro, (K) Indre By, (S) Sydhavn and (Various) for multiple locations. You’ll see that there are new additions, whilst some previously recommended spots have been…let’s say reconsidered. There’s also a list of honourable mentions – places that didn’t quite make the cut but I feel warrant a mention. I have tried to be honest, fair and constructive throughout. Alright, enough waffle. Let’s dive in so you can get booking…where you can!

Admiralgade 26 (K) Website | Instagram | If you’re up for something a bit different but with deliciousness guaranteed, then the Japanese breakfast, (“Chouchoku”) at Admiralgade 26 is the one to go for. A Nordic twist on Japanese food in the most delightful and hygge-est of settings (hygge-est is a word, I made it a word, fight with your mum!), this is absolutely a winner. And I bet you will want to nick more than a few of the decor items, they’re so gorgeous. I have my eye on one of the changing screens and the table-side lamps.

Apollo Bar (K) Website | Instagram | One that’s been long on my list and now I have finally visited. Not your average brunch fare or your typical brunch spot, which is maybe why I like it so much. I even needed instructions for how to eat our artichoke globe – yes I had to ask the waiter! Definitely worth getting, it was sooooooo yummy. Don’t be scared; just be like me and pretend to be a tourist and ask for a how-to guide. The goat cheese omelette with its pesto filling and pepper topping was another unexpected delight. It’s hard to gauge the vibe. It’s at once quite touristy but also giving iykyk vibes. Portioning was decent but could be improved. Pricing is decent too. I would have liked a more interesting dessert menu but perhaps that’s because blueberry toast is absolutely not my jam. Located in the same building as Kunsthal Charlottenborg so you can get your art fix after getting your blood sugar up. Enjoy!

Apotek 57 (K) Website | Instagram | This is probably the brunch spot that I have been to the most, both with friends and solo. You can’t make a reservation (which can be annoying if you go in the afternoon because the QUEUE!!!) but it’s worth the wait if you have the time because the food is scrumptious. Really it is, regardless of if it’s breakfast/brunch or solid lunch food. My only complaint is that the portions are quite small so you may have to spend a lot just to be full. Annoying but whatever, I still go back. It’s located in central Copenhagen (Indre By) and is adjoining the FRAMA design shop so why not stop in there and have a browse of their innovative furniture and other design items?

Bottega Barlie (K) Website | Instagram – Almost directly opposite Apotek 57 and even more impossibly chic. It completes the trifecta of impossibly chic brunch spots on Fredericiagade. Make a reservation, because otherwise, go with God. There are brunch items everyday but Sunday is their menu designated brunch day and it’s worth it to be in attendance on a Sunday. Sunday brunch is 10:00 to 15:00 but eggs are only until 12:30 so go early if you want those. I love the decor, I love the food, I love it all except the portion sizing (quelle surprise given what I said above about its neighbour – the same rationale applies). Budget well before your visit and then go and enjoy yourself thoroughly.
B&W (V) Website | Instagram – The first of the buffets in this guide. There is a fantastic spread of food on offer, plenty of space for diners (no small table nonsense over here!) and despite the 2 hour booking we were informed we had, we stayed for as long as we wanted until we left. Everything was great, I particularly loved the pancakes which were kept warm and fluffy. Yum, yum, yum! Finally, a proper buffet in Copenhagen. Eat your heart out!
Cadence (V) Website | Instagram | Amazing. Food is delicious, flavourful and imaginative. Portions are just right in a leafy, cosy, open and light setting in Vesterbro. Service was a little slow the times when I have visited but perhaps because it’s so popular. You will leave planning your next visit, trust me!

Flindt og Ørsted (K) Website | Instagram | Arguably the spot with the best views and location in this guide. Located in Ørstedparken, this cute gem is the perfect spot to grab a bite, some fresh air and gorgeous views. The menu is seasonal so it will change but the times I have gone, the food has been amazing. Portioning though. Copenhagen, what is it with you and portions?! At least the prices are decent, the food is good and the pastries are soooooo yummy! Definitely check it out.
John & Woo (Various) Website | Instagram | So many people recommended this place to me and after my visit to the Nordhavn location, I understood why. The food is scrumptious. My heart is for the Woo brunch but my friend who got the John brunch seemed equally delighted with her meal. Definitely worth a visit.

Krôyers (K) Website | Instagram – A new fave that’s about to become a regular haunt for me. It’s one of those rare spots in Copenhagen where you will leave feeling stuffed and satisfied in one sitting. My friend even suggested that we could have shared our brunch, that’s how filling it is. The brunch is a set menu on Sundays with a couple of optional variations and the verdict is quite simple – it’s delightful. The decor is giving fabulous grandma’s living room, Parisian style with lots of cool vintage paintings and pieces. It feels charmingly cosy and inviting, just like the owner Grace who made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend.
The Laundromat Cafe (Ø) Website | Instagram | Can’t recommend this spot enough. The food is so wholesome and filling. Another member of the no reservations gang, but it didn’t seem to be an issue when I arrived as I got a table pretty much straight away. There are books and books and books on display (so many books haha!) and you can even buy them (prices range from 10-20DKK). Just make sure to ask a member of staff before grabbing a book (don’t worry, they’re super friendly!).

Levantin (V) Website | Instagram | A charming little hole-in-the-wall and a fresh face among the effortlessly chic spots on Værnedamsvej. The food was delicious—though I wouldn’t have said no to a bit more—but overall, a really satisfying experience. The set menu offers great value if you and your fellow diners are into the same flavours. A different, but very welcome, take on brunch. Highly recommend!

Lille Fugl (K) Website | Instagram | This is one of my fave spots. It’s literally a hole in the wall of Gammel Strand; you will probably walk past it before you find it. Just look for a queue of people and voila, you’re there! I loved the Eggs Lille Fugl from earlier in the year but their Turkish Eggs dish is an absolute must try. The mix of flavours and textures is incredible. It is almost certainly the best Turkish Eggs I have had in Denmark and maybe even ever. Big words but try it and then come back and tell me I’m wrong. I’ll wait!

Ø12 (Various) Website | Instagram | Another one of my favourite brunch spots in Copenhagen. The food is delicious; all the dishes I have tried (and there are a lot!), I have loved. I love their juices – the pear, mint concoction is my absolute fave. There’s more than one location and you can reserve tables. It is sooooooo good and reasonably priced too. What’s not to love?

Polly (FRB) Website | Instagram | My local fave in Frederiksberg (I know I keep saying every spot is my fave but it’s true!). The service is fantastic, the food is good GOOD and it has got such a lovely ambiance. I mean really, what more do you want? Afterwards, indulge in a spot of shopping (actual or window!) along the fashionable Gammel Kongvej and do a bit of people watching while you’re at it.

Sidecar (N) Website | Instagram | I’m not a huge fan of buffets, especially not with what we’ve been living through these past couple of years. However, Sidecar is worth it. So worth it. Everything was soooooo good!!! The dining time could be longer (1.5 hours at a buffet is diabolical!) but hey ho, we’re still going. Make sure to make a reservation as soon as you know you want to go – it’s constantly booked up.
The Sixteen Twelve (N) Website | Instagram | Being the sister restaurant to Cadence, of course the food is delicious – creative twists on brunch staples are in their DNA. Another cosy setting, this time in Nørrebro on the super cool Jægersborggade street. You can browse the cute, kitsch shops before and/or after brunch. What’s not to love?
Søkkelund (FRB) Website | Instagram | You can’t go wrong with a classic French breakfast in a very fabulous dining setting in Frederiksberg. The food is done just right in impeccably chic surroundings. Feel free to dress up a little bit because the crowd tend to be quite fancy.

Studio X Kitchen (K) Instagram | Another good ‘un. Very much along the vibes of Apotek 57 though here the portions are not just delicious, but also generous and most importantly, filling. I highly recommend you try the salad, there shall be no regrets! No reservations, just walk in or queue with hope!
SULT (K) Website | Instagram | The last of the buffets in the guide, this one’s located in the Cinemateket building and offers a sumptuous spread. Tables are annoyingly small so don’t take three plates at a time (guilty!) but there’s plenty of space overall. Like B&W (corporate sibling or cousin perhaps?), there is no one rushing you out the door the minute your two hour seating time is up. Loved it!
Tilda og Karl (N) Website | Instagram | A cute local spot on Stefansgade in Nørrebro. I stumbled upon it by accident and now it’s a regular haunt for me. Food is always on point and at affordable prices.
The Union Kitchen (Various) Website | Instagram | Despite having been here a couple of times, the very extensive menu still can be a little overwhelming to me, though I’ve been happy every single time with my choices. Located on a side street beside Nyhavn with lots of gorgeous boutiques, you can have some good food and then do some shopping and sightseeing. #Winning

Venner CPH (K) Website | Instagram | I had a friend visiting from out of town, but I had left it too late to find a table at some of my usual brunch spots so was recommended to give Venner a whirl. And it did not disappoint. Located a short walk from Nørreport, it was so good, I went back the following weekend! The hashbrowns and the Eggs Benedict were a nice touch but the real delight was the pancakes. You must try them out if you go, you will not regret it, I promise!

Wulff & Konstali (Various) Website | Instagram | Brunch in a canteen-like setting. I won’t lie, my experience at the Nørrebro location felt more than a little chaotic and a tight fit, what with all the tables jammed in there but if you can get past that, the yummy food makes up for it. Having been to other locations, I can definitely recommend this spot – the Nordhavn, Hellerup and Klampenborg locations in particular.
Honourable Mentions
20 Grams (K) Website | Instagram | Super cool decor, the cheesecake is such a treat and the real stars of the menu are the sandwiches.
Atelier September (Various) Website | Instagram | I went to the one just up the road from Apotek 57 – another no reservations spot so go early or be patient as you wait for a table. Like Apotek 57, it’s on the pricey side, but unlike Apotek 57, the food doesn’t quite justify it. It’s extremely simple—borderline basic—and just doesn’t deliver for the cost IMHO. That said, the fashion folks love it and it’s definitely Instagram-friendly, if that’s what you’re after.
Baryl (Various) Website | Instagram | Lovely decor and very colourful dishes. Always packed.
Cafe Alma (S) Website | Instagram | Cute spot and very decent food.
Frede og Vesters (FRB) Website | Instagram | Very bright and interesting decor. An extensive (and a little confusing) menu. Pleasant food.
The Living Kitchen at Zoku (S) Website | Instagram | A stunning, leafy welcome, and the decor is just everything, I love it. Decent food.
Livingstone (Ø) Website | Instagram | A beautiful location that would definitely give Flindt og Ørsted some stiff competition when it comes to beautiful views being located on the Lakes, this spot offers a nice variety of dishes which you can choose 5 or 7 dishes from.
Mad og Kaffe (Various) Website | Instagram | A local champion where brunch staples are simple but solid. It’s always packed but service is consistently hit or miss, hence why it’s only an honourable mention. You’ve been warned.
Seks (K) Website | Instagram | Another walk-ins only spot, this place gets quite crowded and a bit chaotic. In my experience, the food is not always worth the wait and chaos (portioning is not great at all!). Bear in mind, the menu is seasonal so might not be the same as you saw the last time you checked on IG but the secret cake is TO DIE FOR!
Stefanos Mad og Kaffe (N) Instagram | Another local champion and no reservations spot. Good solid brunch staples.
