Guys, summer has finally arrived in Copenhagen. It’s been continuous days of blazing sunshine with increasing temperatures. Now, you might say, “Well duh, it’s June”. To which I would respond, “Yes but it’s also Denmark so just join me to be grateful”. With the glorious arrival of the sunshine and warmth, I have pulled together a list of everything I would like to do this summer. Hopefully, this could also serve as some inspiration or a useful guide for fun things to do in Copenhagen this summer. Not sure I will get through it all but I plan to give it a worthy try. Leggo!

- Brunch! You already know it’s my favourite activity – my Copenhagen Brunch Guide is more than proof of that (an update coming very soon btw!)
- Swim in Ofelia Plads – Just need to figure out the hair situation first. Priorities!
- Ride a bicycle – One day I will tell you about how my bike was stolen in this very safe city. Not now though – I’m still in mourning.
- Dyrehaven (The Deer Park) – It’s absolutely gorgeous, especially in summer. Walks, cycling, running (it will never be me running but I’m just spouting ideas here…), it’s a great spot for whatever activity one can dream up.
- My annual museum day – Every summer, I pick a museum or gallery and spend the day browsing. Nothing says holiday like spending endless hours wandering through a museum. Faves from previous years include Glyptoteket, SMK (the National Gallery of Denmark), the Design Museum and the Carlsberg Museum.
- Louisiana Museum of Modern Art – Because this one deserves its own day.
- My birthday garden soiree. Denmark, please behave with the weather.
- Reffen. Streetfood and vibes. I can’t wait!
- Hanging out at my local library – working, reading, browsing, everything…just not talking. It’s the library, duh!
- Sell at least a third of my wardrobe and stuff at flea markets.
- Speaking of flea markets, I plan to enjoy a few, here in Copenhagen and abroad. There is always treasure just waiting for me to discover it.
- Rundetårn (the Round Tower) – It’s about time I did the tower.
- Ride on a swan boat on the Lakes – Every summer, I make this wish and every summer, my friends sabotage me. This summer, I will prevail.
- Tivoli – Summer in Tivoli is just magical, whether it’s the rides, the gardens or partying at one of the Fredagsrock concerts. I saw 50 Cent a few years ago at a Fredagsrock night, was so cool. Ok, I need to make Tivoli happen this summer!
- Going to a music festival – Last year, it was Roskilde. This year, who knows? Maybe the Copenhagen Jazz Festival could be an option. Open to suggestions!
- Host the Jollof Wars – it’s going to be Nigeria (the Perfector) vs Ghana (the Pretender) vs Senegal (the OG). Some people’s feelings are going to be hurt…
- Stand Up Paddle or kayak through the canals.
- Decorate my balcony – Then host fabulous brunches and dinners on said balcony.
- Visit the elephants at Frederiksberg Have – Technically, they’re in Copenhagen Zoo but you can see them from the Frederiksberg gardens. It’s giving free safari!
- Enjoy multiple sauna and cold plunge sessions – Been hooked ever since my first time winter bathing. Now it’s a ritual.
- Become a Pilates baddie – you guys will get this body, and hopefully it will be toned, supple and smug!
- Bake a cake – Ignore what I just said, because clearly, no one will ever accuse me of being serious.
- Enjoy all the gorgeous parks Copenhagen has to offer – Kastellet is my absolute favourite (I will roll down one of those hills one day!) but Kongens Have and Frederiksberg Have are also delightful. I also want to try out the Botanical Gardens ooooohhhh!
- Be cute on the beach or by the water – Last year I discovered Hornbæk and it was such a delight. This year, I’m thinking Bellevue or Helsingør…hmmmm…
- Read (and FINISH!) some books – On my list: Atomic Habits by James Clear, In Such Tremendous Heat by Kehinde Fadipe, Yellowface by Rebecca F Kuang and Dream Count by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Been experiencing reading block for the past two years but hopefully I will break it this summer.
- Attend a classical concert at Marmorkirken – I saw Mozart’s Requiem there and it was glorious.
- Enjoy the rooftops of Copenhagen. Twerking on a rooftop is THE summertime activity.
- Open air cinema – It’s a thing here and I’m so here for it! Cinemateket has all the deets.
- Afternoon tea – I did Afternoon Tea at the Nimb, and it was divine. Highly recommend!
- Family Time – We have the most epic trip planned, it’s going to be AMAZING!
BONUS: Be OUTSIDE. Allergies be damned, I will be outside and loving it!

There we have it – that’s my Summer 2025 bucket list for Copenhagen and beyond. It’s giving fun, chaos, carbs and culture. Bookmark this post so you can come back for inspo and let me know in the comments if you end up doing (or have already done) any of these. Also, what’s on your summer bucketlist? Share! Let’s inspire each other!
